Introduction

     As/400  users  traditionally  use   Farsi  emulated  IBM  terminals  and  Twin  axial physical connections to connect to these  IBM  servers.  Considering  the  prevalence of  PCs  and  also  the  development  of  network infrastructures in organizations and companies  exploiting  IBM  AS/400  systems,  Data Processing Iran  (DPI) company designed and developed “DPI400J Display” software to provide PC network attached users of AS/400 systems with Farsi environment.

     DPI400J Display software product fully supports IBM Farsi and is developed using Java programming language.  This software allows users to connect to their AS/400 host machines via the Internet Explorer web browser while making Farsi environment available for them.

        Installing DPI400J Display on  a web server one can centralize management, support and maintenance of the software so that network and server managers can perform all these activities from a single point.

      3. Host connection through the Internet

        DPI400J Display allows AS/400 owners to connect to their host machine all around   the   globe   through the Internet  and   access  their  desired  Farsi environment.

DPI400J Display is suitable for:

      1. Organizations having an intranet/Internet infrastructure through which PCs can connect to their host IBM AS/400 (System i) systems.

2. Organizations in which supporting traditional terminal device hardware to connect to AS/400 systems is either too difficult or impossible.

       RAM: 128 MB and above

        OS:      Microsoft Windows 9x, XP, 2000 Family

        Browser:  IE Version 5.0 and above

      In case DPI400J Display is planned to be installed under a server system, you should use a server flavor of the operating system (e.g. Windows Server 2000) together with a web server. Under these circumstances DPI400J Display will require about 15 MB of disk space for installation and operation
